Go Climbing

There are many places to climb on a variety of different types of rock in and around the ACT Region.

The predominant type of rock in the ACT is granite of which there are more than 20 different crags and countless bouldering opportunities.  Mt Coree and Red Rocks offer exciting sport climbing on rhyolite (steep angular rock).  The ACT is only 1 1/2 hours drive from the limestone of Bungonia Gorge and sandstone areas of the NSW Southern Highlands.

The ACT is also close to the Snowy Mountains which offers excellent granite climbing in summer as well as snow and ice climbing in winter.
