The Canberra Climbers’ Association (CCA) represents climbers’ interests in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), across all types of rock climbing. The CCA spends considerable behind-the-scenes time and effort managing access for the climbing community, to the ACT climbing areas.

The ACT and its surrounding region provides many opportunities for rock climbing, including sports and traditional rock climbing, aid climbing, mountaineering and bouldering, on a variety of different rock types. As well as managing access to the ACT climbing areas, the CCA runs numerous climbing-related events throughout each year, and detailed climbing routes and guides for our local climbing areas.

Routes & guides

The ACT has some of the best granite climbing in Australia. Rhyolite, limestone and sandstone crags are also nearby.

Much of the climbing is traditional and requires natural protection, however there is also plenty of sport climbing to be enjoyed as well as some difficult aid routes.
